Synopsis
In Boomerang, the story unfolds in September 1943, as Commander Laird Kennedy takes on the role of executive officer aboard the USS Scimitar, a seaplane tender newly assigned to the South Pacific. The crew, comprised largely of inexperienced officers from various civilian backgrounds, faces the daunting task of establishing a covert scouting base on a small coral isle. Their orders are clear: remain inconspicuous. However, the challenge lies in the fact that a ship of their size cannot easily hide in the open waters of the lagoon.
