Synopsis

The episode of Cavalcade of America presents the compelling story of Éloufer Irine DuPont, a figure whose contributions would shape the future of America. Set against the backdrop of 18th-century France, we meet young Irine, who is introduced to a world of privilege and duty by his father, the Seur DuPont, Inspector General of Commerce. As he receives his first investiture as an esquire, Irine is taught that privilege comes with a responsibility to serve mankind. This lesson becomes a guiding principle throughout his life.
